"The Wonder No. 1 in Mexico"

Copper Canyon is a beautiful and majestic scenery. It is located in the state of Chihuahua, in the mountains of the Sierra Madre.

This natural system consists of a series of 20 canyons and ridges, whose magnitude is four times that of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, although different in nature, being narrower, deeper and abundant vegetation. The area covers an area of 60,000 square miles of rugged land. The Copper Canyon is crossed by the route Chihuahua al Pacifico train known as the "Chepe". In the stretch Divisadero-Los Mochis train goes into the mountains to cross the rugged geography, passes by precipitous cliffs, crossing tunnels and bridges short and long waged rivers.

Legend has it that the canyons of the Sierra Tarahumara formed during the creation of the world, when the stones were not yet congealed and malleable. The metaphor refers to an event that Teutonic over 20 million years led to this spectacular canyon network over an area of 60,000 square kilometers.

Among the most important are canyons: Urique, the deepest of Mexico; Sinforosa, whose landeros fall by Rosalinda waterfalls and San Ignacio, Batopilas, home to some of the more traditional Tarahumara communities; Candameña, where Stone and Basaseachic Volada (the two highest waterfalls in Mexico) and worth the giant rock of 885 meters.
